Black E Anodizing Dye

Black E Aluminum Anodizing Dye. This requires a .60 mil coating to achieve black. This aluminum dye is highly resistant to acid drag in from the tank

Concentration: 10-12 g/l  

 pH: 5.5 - Buffering is not required.

0.60 mils. or greater anodize thickness

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. 20 Minutes .

Black CRO Anodizing Dye

CRO Black Aluminum Anodizing Dye. This requires only a .50 mil coating to achieve black. This black is used for castings with a higher silicone content

Concentration: 10-12 g/l  

 pH: 5.5 - Buffering is not required.

0.50 mils. or greater anodize thickness

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. 10-15 Minutes .

Outdoor Appl​ications Data

We have recently been using Jet black because we can achieve a nice black with a bit shorter anodize time. On some parts this will give a better sheen because of this. Photos coming soon!

Jet Black HL3 Anodizing Dye

Jet Black Aluminum Anodizing Dye. This is fast striking and requires only a .40 mil coating to achieve black. Ok with hardcoat.

Indoor Appl​ications Data

Concentration: 12-14g/l  

 pH: 5.5 - Buffering is not required.

0.80 mils. or greater anodize thickness

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. 20-30 Minutes .

Outdoor Appl​ications Data

Concentration: 9-11 g/l  

 pH: 5.5 - Buffering is not required.

0.60 mils. or greater anodize thickness

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. 10-15 Minutes .

Deep Black MLW Hardcoat Dye

Black MLW is an industry standard dye. This have good light fastness and is hardcoat compatible. 

Concentration: 9-11 g/l  

 pH: 4.5 - 5.2 - Buffering is not required.

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. 20 Minutes .

This is the most economical black and we use daily as well. Hardcoat Compatiable.

Black BK Super Anodizing Dye

Black V Anodizing Dye

Concentration: 10-12 g/l  

 pH: 5 ±0.5 - Buffering is not required.

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. 20 Minutes .

Black V has a bit of a purplish cast in some light conditions

Dark Grey Anodizing Dye

This is a darker color and will be a smokey grey. This is a full 20 minutes to saturation. Less time will be lighter smoke.

Concentration: .5 - 2 g/l  

 pH: 5.5±0.5 - Buffering is not required.

Temperature: 140°F ±5°F. - 20 Minutes

Grey NLN - Dark Grey

Black BKA Super is an all purpose black Dye . This is the black we use daily. Used on the Derailleur to the left

Dye times could range from 2-10 minutes, but can only be determined by sampling.

Anodizing Dye, Black Aluminum Anodizing Dyes, Grey Dyes

All Anodize dyes are in powder form for easier shipment and will require proper mixing prior to use.

​If you have questions please let us know. We use these Aluminum dyes on a daily basis and have knowledge of each dye in application. Each dye is mixed with 2 gallons of water.
