Anodizing DeSmut - Deox - Type I

 This is for Anodizing DeSmut.

Light Yellowish liquid.

This is used:

1. This will remove dirt from aluminum prior to anodizing.

This formula is made to be lower etch and is excellent for polished aluminum.

A Tip: after immersion with etched parts that have blackened we run thru hot water and re-dip and repeat. The hot water will help remove dirt and keep etching to a minimum,

Directions:

Mix with 4 parts water. Mix one liter with one gallon. mix one half liter with one half gallon distilled water. Should be distilled.

Use at room temperature.

Dip for 2-5 minutes for pre-anodize.

Comes in a plastic Jerry Can.

This is a mixed solution.

This is 99.98% pure aluminum powder.
200 mesh grind.
This is used in acid tank setup. basically new tanks tend to burn or pit parts until they get broken in. During the anodizing process aluminum and other metals are dissolved and buffer the amperage flow to the part being anodized. Excess aluminum that cannot be saturated into the tank will form as a white chalky layer in the bottom of the tank and can be vacuumed out. In my experience burning happens more when the tanks are void of aluminum and extract the aluminum from the part being anodized.
A quarter teaspoon per gallon mixed but is not so critical as a little goes a long way, excess will drop out.
50 grams will treat about 7-10 gallons

Anodizing Pre/Post Wash.

This is for a pre and post anodizing wash.

Light Acid based combined with our secret sauce.

Totally Clear Liquid.

This is used in 2 ways:

1. As a pre wash, after desmut to remove noble metals. Most importantly copper which is is most aluminum alloys and is something we don't want. This can also be used as a desmut in this way. Designed to have minimal reaction to aluminum and prevent hazing on polished surfaces.

2. As a post wash after anodizing. This will help to clean the pores after anodizing and will speed the uptake of dyes. Caution need to be considered in this case as you want the shortest time in the bath to prevent dissolution of the actual surface.

In my runs red Bordeaux took 3 minutes to full color compared to 20 minutes without after wash.

Directions:

Mix with 4 parts water. Mix one liter with one gallon. mix one half liter with one half gallon distilled water. Must be distilled.

Use at room temperature.

Dip for 2-5 minutes for pre-anodize.

Dip for 15-40 seconds for post anodize.

Phosphoric Acid.

This is for 85% purity Phosphoric acid.

This is used in anodizing, Food preparation (Soda), Toothpaste, Making Soaps and rust removal.

Sulfuric Acid.

This is for Battery Grade Sulfuric acid.

66BE - Delcan.

This is used in anodizing in the main tank. It can also be used to adjust ph and restore car batteries.

This will ship in a plastic container, safety wrapped in plastic.

1/2 Liter 67% = $22.00

1 Liter 67% = $38.00

Nitric Acid.

This is for nitric acid. This is used in stages of anodizing. Nitric over 30% must be stored in glass containers with a PTFE cap. Under 30% is ok for a short period of time. Nitric is really strong and will react with copper (Why used in anodizing).

The 67% will come in a Brown Boston Glass jar.

For walk in store customers this jar has a $5.00 return/deposit. Shipping will be in a bonded jerry can but should not be stored for long periods (transfer to glass)

RESTRICTED SHIPPING APPLIES

Anodizing Acid, Nitric Acid, Sulfuric Acid, Brite Dip.

We carry acids for anodizing. Nitric, Sulfuric, Phosphoric and Brite Dip. All items on the page ship to the USA and CANADA only and carry restrictions.

ACID REGULATIONS: Some acids most notably nitric is a restricted and dangerous chemical. I ship on a customer basis and has to be combined with dyes and sealant generally with a 100.00 minimum order. This is to ensure this acid is used in anodizing and also to offset the high shipping costs and extensive packaging. I also have to take a special trip out to UPS in many cases for one bottle of nitric, Please contact me if you require acids prior to purchase.

Local pickup is fine but will have hst and/or exchange rates applied.
